Terry Horn - More Poems
pope worthy
telescope in hand
guess i didn’t
see you
guess you weren’t
standing
over there
it’s a long slow
fucking lane
filled with killers
and people of
higher learning
university presidents
and bank teller
counting receipts
bought a rubix cube
never really figured
it out
3 in a row
dirt defined by
ashes and lust
between two apple
trees.how jealousy
developed,take a photograph.
there was vinyl then
used for cars and
records.i love you
because i heard it on
the radio.didn’t really
know why or when.it
will happen while you
are at the bar with
your friends.pour that
over some ice and
please bring me an ash tray.
we are
the drugs you have
taken
take
the jump master
the leap
old in the shadow
follows me around
stays awake
while
i sleep
will
miss you
one
day
tomorrow
the insane rainbow
showing colors
you would not believe
paint on a pallet
the brushed dipped
a line on a canvas
let’s go camping
let’s go see the wind
on mt washington
let’s climb a tree
ride a dirt bike
as a tire
pretend we are human
share pictures
childhood memories
holding your hand
then finally
letting go
as we dream
as fish fly
thru
water
and
the sky returns
the favor
and cries
for forgiveness or
strength
it’s been said
time heals
then
i look at you
then
i look at me
and i wonder
how
days in the hospital
had the tv on
while i slept
on a pile of
injustice
i am here because
my stomach exploded
those doctors seem
amused
does that hurt
we
are here to take
blood
and the bag filled
with nutrition
dripped
flat lined a couple days
i think
and the bag just
dripped
with memories of
her very first
orgasm
joyfully described breaking
hearts and
resentment
the taste of love
with ketchup
a marching band playing
guns and roses
a new song
never even heard
driving down the highway
then
listening
for a modern
memory
add water
to
a seed
in the dirt
and watch
as
it performs some
magic
