Terry Horn - More Poems
the insane rainbow
showing colors
you would not believe
paint on a pallet
the brushed dipped
a line on a canvas
let’s go camping
let’s go see the wind
on mt washington
let’s climb a tree
ride a dirt bike
as a tire
pretend we are human
share pictures
childhood memories
holding your hand
then finally
letting go
as we dream
as fish fly
thru
water
and
the sky returns
the favor
and cries
for forgiveness or
strength
it’s been said
time heals
then
i look at you
then
i look at me
and i wonder
how
days in the hospital
had the tv on
while i slept
on a pile of
injustice
i am here because
my stomach exploded
those doctors seem
amused
does that hurt
we
are here to take
blood
and the bag filled
with nutrition
dripped
flat lined a couple days
i think
and the bag just
dripped
with memories of
her very first
orgasm
joyfully described breaking
hearts and
resentment
the taste of love
with ketchup
a marching band playing
guns and roses
a new song
never even heard
driving down the highway
then
listening
for a modern
memory
add water
to
a seed
in the dirt
and watch
as
it performs some
magic
am here
today
and
at some point
gone
tomorrow
drugs are illegal
unless
you get a
note
from a doctor
i have nightmares
and
sometimes i perspire
got anything
when i finally stopped
crying i
missed it
sadness felt right
after all
exalted imagined how
you were here drinking
water with tiny shots you
kept in a jacket pocket
excuse me now need
to fill a glass and
cherish
emptiness
refilled
you carried this picture
it was you
as a trophy
taken by a hunter
just
before the kill
abrupt
another ending
