drunks scream to
turn up the radio
scream
over the radio so
they can hear
each other

simultaneously loud
and boring
here to work
listen to
the reality of silence
the scream of pain
the radio
managing happy
the delusion
dancing
spirit crushed
reawokened
and still alive
