Terry Horn - More Poems
time was a customer
I am here
to buy glasses
we have
water glasses
wine glasses
colored glasses
we even have
glasses for parfaits
supervision
that is
what
you have
maybe I was
and
do not
want
to do that
anymore
I visited a
painting
once
and when i
left
I took some
color
stayed forever
in
my eyes
taking this
moment
to wonder
if
I will ever
see you
again
happy
like a bar
like a church
like a celibate
priest
is it sunday
grace being
polite
learns to
walk away
finally
lasting in the happiness
she could dream
arrive and disappear
cloak and dagger
stuff
time bent stupid
true
insufficient
do not ask
do not ever
do
that again
the
giant hand
that saves
babies
the
world’s largest
toilet bowl
filled with music
just
a bunch of
spoiled motherfuckers
and thieves
bitchin’
about welfare
some people get
joyful letters
filled with
quotes and pictures
here I am
eating a cheeseburger
wish you were
here
like a leaf
I left
only to return
in the next
life
I
want to be
a bartender
in
the name of decency
please
wonder
if he knew
figured out that
nothing adds up
just add zero
loved your brain
sorry
I couldn’t fuck you
taught me
to appreciate words
still
couldn’t fuck you
over and over
a movie ending
I tried
I failed
besides
truly loved your
brain
he drove a bread
truck
told me all about
it
stopped listening to
everything
except his eyes
did he
like what he was
seeing
even listen
to what he was
saying
let me off
drop me anywhere
let me be
fucking alone
