Terry Horn - More Poems
trees without leaves
working as a dust collector
a window filled with snow
cold air finding
clearance
i was going to
watch
the sunlight on
the avocados
you called then
there were shadows there
walking
leaving footprints
time to water
in the end you pay
cash it in
eyes locked shut
unable to see
anything
anymore
so
what’s important
now
then
have to die now
i
have to go
no choice
ultimately
played in
2 super
bowls
won a few
masters
will be
back
not to
worry
wrote a thesis
how
molecules
entertain
surprised
that
i met you
not
surprised that
i
live alone
i was
like that once
then evolved
became
more like
a small bird
or
horse
you could ride
around
time
and
the universe
seeds
turning
into trees
housing
for birds
centuries
quite a few
days
eating
waiting
for something
other
than this
something new
a
subspecies
water
and space
never
stop dreaming
waiting
for silence
***
there is music
being played
daily
rain that never stops
remembers
feels the water
knows
about
fire too
can
ride a rain
drop
two
one
none
if
i could
just
get thru
today
miss you
because
i know
you
are not here
anymore
makes me sad
poetry
should never
be
about death
like
who wants to
hear
about how you
are sitting in
a room
somewhere
dying
holding
myself hostage
had a big
gun
pointed
at the door
and one more
pointed
at my head
inspired
you were my
inspiration
put away the past
drive
carefully
place me
in the mirror
was
a baker for
an upscale
restaurant
in chicago
i made doughnuts
filled
with homemade soda
and
once and awhile
ingredients
scrapped
from my shoe
those
sold
and tasted better
so
i quit
opened a goldmine
