Terry Horn - More Poems
mighty mouse
comes
to save the day
the child
appeared
lost
in meditation
legs crossed
humming
that melody
found here
over there
focusing on
a word
a phrase repeated
he would talk
and
i would guess
what
he was saying
mostly involves
silence
and a prescription
heard birds
house broken
filled with trees
and maple syrup
there must be elves
or fairies or
somebody or
something
elephants
growing up here
visited
indianapolis
twice
prefer the water
and trees and
moonlight
when i leave
probably
go to some
island
having
been born
in italy
you
would think
i’d always
be
italian
racial
profiling would
be
finding
polish people
at
the pierogi shop
what
language
are you
speaking
not
everybody
could be
born in brooklyn
remember
yesterday
like
it was
yesterday
and
unfortunately
you
are no longer
here
for me to see
having
been in a womb
i
had a mirror
i
do believe
and a small stove
to make
meatballs
thanks
for this moment
as
leaf’s fall
cover the ground
with centuries
of imagination
and nothing
if
christopher columbus
had
an apple
he could
gps
america
and
do some research
on
indigenous tribes
a meal
served in a bowl
a pig in a
trough
becomes
so special later
as the sun sets
and the wood
goes
on the fire
as time goes by
do
you dream of
boats
and people
smiling
there will be
days
filled with wonder
why
the fuck
would
i
ever want
to
do that
riding a bike
thru harlem
stopped to
sit
on a bench
the bus is empty
manhattan
who would have thought
riding a bike
witnessing
the failure of success
you
are what you see
stage
set
the end is
over there
playing
horse
shoes
she played a
wife
on tv
and
even in a
few
movies
at home
it was different
no script
no happy husband
better
you know
